Miss Fisher

An Australian show in its second season - pure eye candy with fun mysteries based on the books by Kerry Greenwood.

I love that the heroine is sassy and smart and independent - and over forty.

Lady Luck's Map of Vegas - Barbara Samuel (O'Neal)

I have shared this book with more than one wonderful woman in my life and each time I cannot articulate exactlly what makes me love this book so much.

It's not an easy story dealing with mental illness, love, mother-daughter relationships, place and the truth that we don't really know our own history completely.

Foyle's War

I have been a fan of Foyle's War for years.  This wonderful series from Masterpiece Mystery is undestated and unique.  It has been canceled twice and is now being brought back for another seasion.

Michael Kitchen's Foyle and Honesuckle Weeks Sam are subtle and powerful.  The stories are great and each is grounded in actual historical fact from England in wartime.

The Lost Wife - Alyson Richman

I both read and listened to the audiobook version of The Lost Wife, both were enthralling.

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet - Jamie Ford

The story of Chinese Henry and Japanese Keiko growing up during WWII in Seattle

Life is a Verb - Patti Digh

Amazing inspiration to look at life's moments, big and small, differently.
